From mommy mode to CEO? 👶💼

This past weekend, I embarked on a solo trip to Las Vegas for a work conference, and it was an absolute game-changer.

As many of you know, I’ve been dreaming of creating my own beauty product for years, and this trip was a crucial step in making that dream a reality. 💖

In this newsletter, I’m sharing all the exciting details about my trip, including a fun outfit post, new products that intrigued me and how I’m feeling about this new venture. 😁 

Let’s dive in!

What I Wore: Conference Edition

For my first day at Cosmoprof, I went with a chic and comfy look.

• Outfit: Wide legged pants, a white collared poplin shirt, paired with these cushion slide sandals (so comfy!).

• Makeup: A fresh, natural look that highlights my features without being too over-the-top. I used this Stay In Place Foundation for all-day wear (makeup did not budge at all!), used this Super Setter Spray and kept this Blur Lip Tint on so I didn’t have to reapply. 🫶 

Let’s just say walking around that day I clocked 20K steps! 😲 I’m so glad I was wearing my cushion slide sandals with this outfit. #nosorefeet

Emerging Beauty Gems✨

During my press session at Cosmoprof, I met some incredible new beauty brands that really intrigued me!

These two stood out with their innovative concepts and passionate founders.

Antevorta

I had the pleasure of meeting Sarah Jane Ho, the founder of Antevorta. She even has her own Netflix show, "Mind Your Manners”. We had such a fun chat about her show, how it all started and her journey with Antevorta.

What's Antevorta?

• Sarah's line focuses on intimate wellness products inspired by Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).

Why I Love It:

• Growing up in a Chinese family, my mom always used TCM remedies for my skin, when I was sick, and so much more. Sarah has taken something ordinary and turned it into an elevated, feminine product. 🌿

My Favorite:

• The Intimate Wipes are a total game-changer! Perfect for freshening up during your period and safe for pregnancy too (I wish I had these when I was pregnant!). Plus, they are 100% flushable! 😮🌸

Bright Girl by Angela Casey, MD 

When Angela came to my press session, I was so impressed by her credentials—she's a board-certified dermatologist and educator, just to name a few. 😮

What's Bright Girl?

• A line of clean skincare products specifically designed for teens and tweens.

Why I Love It:

• Angela recognized the need for clean and pH-balanced products for beginners, taking skincare to the next level. It's fantastic to see safe options created by professionals for those just starting a skincare routine! 🌿✨

My Favorite:

• The Bright + Clean Gel Facial Cleanser. It's made with super gentle, clean ingredients. I love its soothing gel texture — it cleanses without drying, leaving the skin feeling strong and nourished. 🌟

OG YouTuber to CEO?

My first solo work trip was amazing! 🌟 It was a quick 2-day getaway, and yes, I missed my kids, but I really needed it.

Since having two kids, my career slowed down.

That’s just the sacrifice I had to make when starting our family.

There was just no way I would be able to work full-time and exclusively breastfeed, get up every few hours, have little to no sleep, and change the never ending diapers. IYKYK. 😩 

One thing I missed so much was going to fun events and brand trips. (Hello Miami and Korea! 🥲)

That’s why getting an invite to Cosmoprof was a breath of fresh air! (Someone even called me an OG YouTuber at the conference! Yes, I’ve been around for a while 😆).

It felt like all of this was a sign because I wanted to start my own beauty line and this was the place to be! 🌠 

Being around other founders and seeing the possibilities was so inspiring.

Now that my kids are in school, I finally have some “me time” and can dive back into what I love. 🔥

I've always dreamed of creating a product that would help people look and feel their best.

I also love reading comments like this:

So, I want to share my big dreams with you and take you along on this journey. It might take some time, but I’m ready to make this happen.

I’ll never forget someone saying:

"You can’t wait for someone to open the doors for you and make your dreams happen—you gotta bust through those doors yourself."

That’s where I am now...
