Breathe and Step Away 🚶♀️
When it’s all too much, take a deep breath and step away. Studies show that short inhales and long exhales calm the mind.
Try inhaling for 3 counts and exhaling for 6. Do this a few times when your stress levels are high.
Create a “No” List 🙅
As a mom, saying no is essential.
Here’s my “No” list:
Volunteering for every school event
Hosting playdates every weekend
Making elaborate school lunches daily
Last-minute plans
Replace these with things that bring you joy. Setting boundaries is key for your well-being.
Re-think Your Self Care 🥰
I recently listened to a podcast 🎙️ from The Good Inside that got me rethinking self-care.
Long baths, reading books, and spa days sound dreamy, but they didn’t work for me. Self-care isn’t one-size-fits-all.
For me, real self-care is meditating for a few minutes, sneaking in a 20-minute cat nap (#MomLife), decluttering (weirdly relaxing), and writing in my daily journal (free therapy!).
It’s about what works for you and leaves you feeling rejuvenated and relaxed. 🧘♀️

I have a friend, for the sake of anonymity, let's call her "Tess. She’s the ultimate "fit" friend. She has an 8-pack, an in-home gym, and hits the hotel gym at 6 am on vacation.
Her dedication to fitness is awe-inspiring (and a bit jealousy-inducing). 😅
Inspired by Tess, I picked up Eat, Move, Sleep by Tom Roth. 📖 It’s packed with practical health tips that are inspiring but not overwhelming.
Here’s what I’ve learned:
Move More: Daily activity is key. Small bursts of movement are better than one intense workout. Stand when you can and take breaks often. 🚶♀️
Boost Creativity: Moving around gives your brain a break and boosts creativity. 🧠
Eat Early: Structure your meals to eat earlier in the day and less as it progresses. 🍽️
Mindful Eating: Make every meal last at least 20 minutes to encourage mindful eating. ⏲️
Sugar Check: Check the sugar content in your favorite snacks. If it’s over 10 grams, find a healthier replacement. 🍧
