I can't believe I did this to my face 😬

What I did to my skin that I deeply regret, the gut reset that changed everything, and the most freeing lesson I learned all year.

I did something to my face for over a decade…

That I thought was making me look better.

Spoiler: it wasn't. 🫠 

My skin looks better now than it did in my 20s, and I get asked a lot about what I use.

But honestly? It's not about what I added.

It's about what I finally stopped doing. 🛑 

Here’s what I’m spilling this week:

High school me had NO idea what she was doing to her face 🫠 

5 things I wish I knew back then…

I used to think more makeup meant better makeup.

Thin brows, full coverage foundation, eyeliner on top AND bottom, blush like I was heading to prom every single day. 🤡

My skin couldn't breathe under all that weight.

It looks good now, but I wonder if it would look even better if I hadn't covered it for so many years.

Here are the things I wish I didn’t do:

1. The coverage mistake I made for years 😬
All that full coverage makeup I thought I needed? It was basically a mask. If I could go back, I’d let my skin breathe and reach for this super tinted hydrator in shade 03 that evens everything out without feeling like paint, and this vital brightening concealer in shade L2 for erasing dark circles. Just a dot and I'm done.
Tip: Set with this veil powder... I don't know what sorcery this is but it never creases.

2. What I wish I knew about under eyes 👀
I used to do that triangle concealer hack (you all know the one), piling product thinking more coverage meant less darkness. The trick is what goes underneath... this extreme eye cream brightens, lifts and does half the work. Pair it with this award-winning extreme cream and everything looks more contoured. Tip: Pat eye cream with your ring finger aka the gentlest for this area.

3. Your hands aren't doing enough 🧼
I thought washing my face twice was overkill until I realized the first cleanse only breaks down what's sitting on top... makeup, sunscreen, oil. The second actually cleans your pores. I start with this clarifying cleansing foam and then follow with my vinohydra cleansing gel. This duo leaves my skin soft instead of stripped.
Tip: Hands aren’t enough, I use this sonic facial brush every single day. Fact.

4. The texture fix nobody talks about
Chemical exfoliants used to scare me but they're also why my skin isn't bumpy or dull. I use this 2% BHA liquid exfoliant once a week, (you can literally feel the softness the next day) then this collagen peptide moisturizer to plump everything back up. One clears, one rebuilds.
Tip: Start with once a week, your skin will thank you

5. Before you try retinol, read this ⚠️
Starting with retinol too soon will irritate your skin and make you quit. I wish I'd built up with this resurfacing compound first. I love that it’s an all-in-one product that helps smooth and renew while reducing the look of fine lines. When your skin can handle this, then move to retinol.
Tip: Once you graduate to retinol, pair it with a beta-glucan serum to keep irritation away.

Listening to my gut…literally.

I feel everything now.

Every pulled muscle, every headache, every reminder that my body has opinions.

But honestly? It's made me way more in tune with what I actually need.

I'm a Pisces and apparently we're intuitive, thank god for that because when my body talks, I’m listening. 👂️ 

🥛 Kefir, the drink I tolerate because it works
It doesn't taste great... sour, thick, tarte. But my digestion is completely different since I started taking a shot every morning. Immunity up. Bloating gone. #win.

🍜 This 10-minute healing gut soup
I saw this TikTok and thought no way this is that easy. Broth with mushrooms, tofu, green onions... I used miso as the base, toss in veggies and some vermicelli noodles. In under 10 minutes I have something that heals my gut from the inside out…and tastes so good!

😴 Magnesium changed my sleep
I take this mind + muscle powder every night as my sleepy girl mocktail about an hour before bed. Studies show it helps with nerves, muscles and bones and it genuinely helps you wind down. Need extra help? I try to meditate everyday to this smart sleep clock that regulates my circadian rhythm.

The audacity of people lately…

I'm not naming names.

But recently someone said something in that passive-aggressive way to test how I'd react. 💢 

You know the type. The ones who think they're being clever but really they're just being kinda shitty.

It used to mess with me... but now? I'm done letting people who don't know my life or work have an opinion about it.

If you have someone like this in your life, it's very important you do not listen to them.

I've been doing this since 2012 and it reminds me how long I've been showing up.

You can't please everyone. Someone will always think you're too much or not enough, too polished or too messy.

And I'm okay with that.

You know why? Because what started as a hobby, posting my first YouTube video about dry shampoo hacks, to having over 1M+ followers is something I cherish so deeply. I showed up year after year. Growing, changing, evolving. I could have quit so many times because of what other people said... good thing I didn't listen to them.

Some of you have been with me since the beginning and have seen me go through life, marriage, kids, and now motherhood. You're the reason I keep going. 💕

Here’s what I know:

Not everyone deserves access to your process. Let them think what they want... their confusion about your life is not your problem.

Just keep moving. Let your results speak.

Your energy is currency, so spend it wisely.

So back to that person who tried to come for me? If you're not in the arena with me, your opinion doesn't get a vote.

And honestly? That's the most freeing thing I've learned all year.
