The thing I'll never buy again...πŸ™…πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

The thing I swore off, the six I'd save from a fire, and the rule my mom never broke.

Hi beautiful, β˜•οΈ

Yesterday I…

  • Decorated the house with floating witch hats and candles

  • Went to a birthday party

  • And then hosted a Halloween party

Is this what my life is now? 🫠

Today, I rest...

And by rest I mean I'm on the couch, still finding candy wrappers, somehow shopping for the things I actually need.

And it just so happens to be that time of year when my cart fills itself. πŸ‘€

Here's what I'm spilling this week:

πŸ™…πŸ»β€β™€οΈ The thing I swore I'd never buy again
πŸ’„ 6 tried and tested things I’ll never go without
πŸ›’ One rule my mom had that I ignored for way too long

My Tried and Tested List...

Confession: I have more lip products than my kids have Halloween candy.

These are the six I can’t live withoutπŸ‘‡οΈ

8 hours of sleep, in a bottle.

Some days my skin just looks tired and flat, no matter how much coffee I drink. This luminous hydrating foundation in 8 golden gives me that soft, dewy glow, like I actually slept. It's my date night foundation, every single time.

My pores learned their inside voice.

Under fluorescent lights at school pickup, every pore on my face decides to speak up. This airbrush blurring foundation in macaroon 230N smooths everything out without feeling heavy. I keep it for the real life days, and it never lets me down.

Jen wearing her lip oil balm

Goodbye, flaky winter lips.

Between the heater and the cold air, my lips get rough fast. This peptide plumping lip oil balm in lychee makes them look soft and full without the sticky. It lives in my purse, and I swipe it on right before bed too.

Vacation face, zero vacation.

Once it gets cold, my cheeks lose all their color and I look like I need a nap. This crème and powder blush duo in out of office gives me that just got back from somewhere warm flush. I tap the cream on first, set it with the powder, and it lasts all day.

Jen with her creamy lipstick

The secret to looking awake in one swipe?

Most lipsticks either feel like glue or disappear after one sip of coffee, and I am not reapplying in the school pickup line. This soft matte blur lipstick glides on soft, feels comfortable all day, and actually stays put. It's the one I reach for when I want to look put together in two seconds. πŸ’‹

Jen pumping out her tinted hydrator

Too lazy for foundation? Same.

Some mornings full coverage feels like too much, but bare skin feels like too little. This tinted hydrator in shade 03 is a skin tint and moisturizer in one. It gives me glowy coverage and a lot of hydration in one step. It looks like my skin, but way better.

Get Ahead of the Holiday...

Every year I swear I'll shop early…

And every year I'm wrapping on the kitchen floor at midnight.

Not this time. One gift each, done. 🎁

1. Mom, who "doesn't need anything." My mom LOVES a sample. She loves to try a few different things, but she'll never actually buy the full size. This fully stacked skincare gift set is the best way to give her a taste before she goes for the full thing. Honestly, I love it for her.

2. The mother in law you want to impress. You want thoughtful, but you don't want to overthink it for three weeks. This suede Esme shoulder bag is the one I've been eyeing for months, and I keep seeing it on everyone lately. It's soft, goes with everything, and looks so polished. Tbh, I would want someone to gift this to me. lol.

3. Your mom friend who hasn't sat down since 2019. Cold coffee, three hours of sleep, and nothing new for herself in months. This mini vanity case is going to make her feel like β€˜her’ again. I’ve used so many of their products and can’t believe they’re actually still in stock.

4. The BFF who does her makeup in the Uber. She's always running late and still wants to look like she tried. This 4-piece lip and cheek set is what every IT girl wants. The colors are perfect on literally everyone, so she gets effortlessly polished lips and cheeks in two minutes flat. Even in the back of an Uber. πŸ˜‚

5. Your guy, but make him polished. I love a guy in a crewneck sweater. This cashmere crewneck is so polished yet effortless, and it looks so great with a white tee and a coat over top.

The Shopping Rule My Mom Lived By...

My mom had one shopping rule: buy only what you need.

Meanwhile, I once lined up for a warehouse sale and came home with a sequin top I've worn zero times. πŸ™ˆ

It's basically a museum piece now.

The thing I'll never buy again?

The "it's such a good deal" outfit.

You know the one. It's still hanging in my closet with the tags on. πŸ™…πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

My mom never did a no reason buy. Not once.

She'd look at my bags and say, "You’re never going to wear that!" πŸ˜‚

She was right, and the older I get, the more I shop like her.

That's why beauty and skincare is where I invest.

I know what works, and I finish every last drop.

❝

Don't be a "what if I need this someday" person.

Treat yourself to the things that truly make you feel look and feel good. πŸ’›
